I am mostly a self-taught artist who wants to bring more color and whimsy into the world. My current muse and main inspiration is Mother Nature, particularly birds, whose beauty and behavior are beguiling. I photograph them as they go about their precarious lives and strive to capture their attitudes, essences and personalities. These photos are my starting point for creative interpretation.

Play, curiosity and experimentation guide my practice. I surround myself with many materials, including hand printed papers and various media (colored pencils, paint, markers, ink) and let them inform the process.
